Margaret Anadu

Margaret is the global head of sustainability and impact for Asset Management, leading the development and oversight of the firm’s strategy for delivering commercial solutions and leading advisory services to clients related to inclusive growth and climate transition, the two core pillars of the firm’s sustainability strategy. She is also the chairwoman of the Urban Investment Group (UIG) and co-chair of the Asset Management Sustainability Council.
Prior to assuming her current role, Margaret was head of UIG, a domestic, multi-asset class investing and lending business within Asset Management that provides equity and debt to real estate projects and social enterprises, and lending facilities for small businesses, students, and individuals in order to create opportunity. Established in 2001, UIG has committed more than $10 billion to community and economic development investments, serving as a catalyst in the revitalization of underserved, predominantly minority communities.
Margaret also serves on the Board of Advisors of Launch With GS, Goldman Sachs’ $500 million commitment to invest in companies and investment managers with diverse leadership, and is an ex-officio member of the Investment Banking Division Council for Advancement of Racial Equity. Previously, Margaret worked in Equity Derivatives in the Securities Division. She joined Goldman Sachs as an analyst in 2003 and was named managing director in 2013 and partner in 2018.
Margaret serves on the boards of several community and economic development organizations, including the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation, Center for an Urban Future, Core Innovation Capital, Low Income Investment Fund, New York Public Radio and The Africa Center. Margaret earned a BA in Computer Science from Harvard College in 2003.
Jean Brownhill

After earning an Architecture degree at The Cooper Union, Jean spent a decade working in architecture and construction. Her own challenging renovation inspired her to transform the opaque construction industry and create the first modern renovation experience that is transparent, efficient and personal.
Sweeten (as in “home, sweet home”) launched in 2011. Today, Sweeten has nearly $1.5B of construction projects in the pipeline. The two-sided marketplace brings trust, transparency and technology to a $400B industry, creating the end-to-end standard for the renovation experience. Sweeten has been called a “Renovation Game-Changer,” with Jean hailed as “The Contractor Whisperer” by New York Magazine and one of Inc. Magazine’s “Most Innovative Women Founders in America.”
Jean is a Loeb Fellow from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where she co-founded the African American Student Union (AASU), an organization supporting African Americans in architecture, real estate and urban planning. As a member of the 2018 Class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute, she recently launched SAW (Sweeten Accelerator for Women) to help female contractors build their businesses. In 2019, Jean was also chosen by the President of Cooper Union to win the prestigious President’s Citation award for alumni who have made important contributions to art, architecture, engineering or interdisciplinary studies. In 2020, Goldman Sachs chose her as one of their 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2020 at its Builders + Innovators Summit.
Jean’s philanthropic work focuses on bringing social change and equality to the broader housing market.
She sits on the board of HELP USA, a non-profit organization committed to providing shelter to meet people’s immediate needs, as well as the support they need to succeed for themselves, their families, and their communities. Eve Burton

Eve Burton is an executive vice president and the chief legal officer of Hearst, a leading global diversified media, information and services companies, with more than 360 global businesses. Hearst’s major interests span cable entertainment and syndication, interactive and emerging digital media, local broadcast television, magazines, newspapers and real estate as well as business information companies that create and deliver content, analytics and workflow solutions for the finance, healthcare and transportation industries worldwide.
Burton is a member of Hearst’s board of directors. She has overall responsibility of day-to-day management for the Office of General Counsel, which provides legal services to all of Hearst’s businesses around the world. She also manages Oracle HCM technology operations, compliance, corporate human resource issues, labor relations and government affairs. Burton has been one of Hearst’s leaders in establishing worldwide strategic enterprise deals with partners. Additionally, she is a member of Hearst’s Venture Committee, which funds digital initiatives, and is the co-founder of and oversees HearstLab, which fosters innovation and investment in early stage businesses led by women.
Burton sits on the board of directors of Intuit, Inc. and previously was on the board of directors of AOL until its sale to Verizon. She is a member of the advisory board of the David and Helen Gurley Brown Institute for Media Innovation at Stanford and Columbia Universities and is a trustee of Middlebury College.
Prior to joining Hearst, Burton served as vice president and chief legal counsel at Cable News Network (CNN), where she oversaw all legal matters relating to news and other programming on CNN networks and websites. From 1995 to 2000, Burton was at the New York Daily News as the deputy general counsel. She began her career at the law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges after serving as a law clerk for the Hon. Leonard B. Sand in the United States District Court of New York. Burton was a Fulbright Research Scholar at Thammasat University in Bangkok.
The Hearst Office of General Counsel has a dedicated initiative to the ongoing protection of First Amendment rights for its journalists and the preservation of a free press and was awarded a lifetime First Amendment Award from the Reporter’s Committee for Freedom of the Press. Burton has won the Fulbright Award for her international work. She was also named an Outstanding Woman of the Bar by the New York County Lawyers’ Association.

Juan Pablo Cappello, a co- founder of NUE Life Health, The LAB Miami, Miami Angels, PAG Law PLLC, was recently named one of the “Most Influential Hispanics” in by Poder magazine in the areas of science and technology and was selected as a “Top 50 Entrepreneur” by Business Leader magazine.
As an attorney Juan Pablo Cappello was named Lawyer of the Year in derivative and futures law from the Miami area by Best Lawyer. He was also named the Leading Lawyer of the Year in the Corporate/M&A – Latin America category at the Law Awards. Also the editorial staff of Latinvex selected Juan Pablo as one of the top 100 leading attorneys that are involved in the growing legal business in Latin America. Before launching PAG Law PLLC, Juan Pablo was a Principal Shareholder in the Latin American Group of Greenberg Traurig, an international 1,800+ lawyer law firm. He also started another boutique law firm in Miami unrelated to PAG Law PLLC. Earlier in his career Juan Pablo was a partner in and a director of Patagon.com, which was sold to Banco Santander for a transaction value of over US$750 million.
Juan Pablo is also a well known entrepreneur and deeply involved in supporting venture capital in Latin America. He has co-founded several companies including (i) www.idea.me, the first Latin America crowdfunding site and (ii) Sauber Energy, a green energy company in Chile that resolves the problem of “harmonics” in the electrical grid, while remaining a serial ”seed investor” supporting many projects including Senzari (an international music site like Pandora only better), Urbita (a regional travel site), and LinkedStore (an Argentina site that supports SMEs).
He also serves on the Knight Foundation Advisory Committee, as well as the advisory board of the Institute of Global International Effectiveness at the Kelly School of Management, Indiana University. Juan Pablo also is a GAB member of Endeavor.org and a member of the Legal Committee of the Latin American Venture Capital Association.
David Carey
Media & Communications Innovator
David Carey is the Hearst Corporation’s Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications. During calendar 2019, he served as the chairman of Hearst Magazines, after serving for eight years as president. In January 2019, he became a Fellow at Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiative, a university-wide program that each year selects a small group of senior executives from around the world to spend two semesters on the Harvard campus studying solutions to large-scale societal problems.
During Carey’s tenure as president, Hearst Magazines more than doubled in size, with the 2011 acquisition of more than 100 magazines in 14 countries from Lagardère, the 2018 acquisition of Rodale’s global media assets, as well as new joint ventures with Scripps (now Discovery) and leading technology companies. Carey also expanded Hearst’s leadership position in its B2B services unit.
Previously, Carey was group president at Condé Nast, where he oversaw the company’s media properties targeted to executive audiences. He was publisher of The New Yorker from 1998 to 2005, returning it to profitability after years of losses. Earlier in his career, Carey was the founding publisher of SmartMoney, a joint venture between Hearst Magazines and The Wall Street Journal.
Carey serves as a Trustee of the Whitney Museum of American Art, and is a Board Member of Harvard Business Publishing. He is a former Director of the Hearst Corporation as well as the Harry Winston Diamond Corporation. He is a 1985 graduate of UCLA, where he began his media career as publisher of the UCLA Daily Bruin.
Ted Colbert
IT & Data Analytics Super-Leader
Ted Colbert is executive vice president of The Boeing Company and president and chief executive officer of Boeing Global Services. He is a member of Boeing’s Executive Council.
Colbert was named president and chief executive officer of Global Services in October 2019. He is responsible for leading Boeing’s aerospace services development and delivery model for commercial, government and aviation industry customers worldwide, focused on global supply chain and parts distribution, aircraft modifications and maintenance, digital solutions, aftermarket engineering, analytics and training. Global Services offers customers lifecycle solutions regardless of platform manufacturer to accelerate delivery schedules, reduce operational costs and enhance operational efficiencies. Global Services has more than 300 locations in more than 70 countries.
Previously, Colbert was chief information officer and senior vice president of Information Technology & Data Analytics. In this role, he led all aspects of information technology, information security, data and analytics. He also supported the growth of Boeing’s business through IT- and analytics-related revenue generating programs.
Prior to his role as CIO, he led Boeing’s Information Technology Infrastructure organization where he was responsible for developing and maintaining network, computing, server, storage, collaboration and infrastructure solutions across the enterprise. Before that, he led the IT Business Systems organization where he managed the computing application systems that support Boeing Finance, Human Resources, Corporate and Commercial Capital Business Units, as well as the company’s internal systems.
Prior to joining Boeing in 2009, Colbert was senior vice president of Enterprise Architecture at Citigroup. Before that, he spent 11 years in Ford Motor Company’s Information Technology organization where he held roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of program management, infrastructure engineering and operations, application development, portfolio management and process reengineering.
Colbert completed the Dual Degree Engineering Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Morehouse College with degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Interdisciplinary Science. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) and serves on the board of directors of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the Georgia Tech President’s Advisory Board, the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus Advisory Board, and New Leaders, where he serves as board chair. Colbert is also a non-executive board member of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM).
Colbert’s recent accomplishments include receiving the 2022 Black Engineer of the Year Award; receiving the 2021 CapitalCIO of the Year ORBIE award for leadership; recognition as one of the Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America by Savoy magazine in 2020 and 2021; becoming the first recipient of the Fisher Center prize for Excellence in Driving Transformation from the Fisher Center For Business Analytics at Berkeley; winning the 2018 Forbes CIO Innovation Award; recognition as one of the Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America by Black Enterprise magazine in 2017; 2017 Morehouse College Bennie Leadership Award for Excellence in Business; recognition as the 2016 National Society of Black Engineers Golden Torch Legacy Award winner; recognition as the HMG Strategy 2016 CIO of the Year; and, being named a 2015 Ebony Power 100 honoree.
Akunna Cook
Foreign & Public Policy Champion
Akunna Cook serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs in the Biden-Harris Administration. In this role, Ms. Cook oversees the development of U.S. foreign policy for Southern Africa, as well as economic and regional issues including trade, investment, climate, health, multilateral engagement, democracy, and human rights. Previously, Ms. Cook was the founder and principal at Drake Road Strategies where she advised individuals and organizations on public policy strategy and advocacy. She was also the inaugural executive director of the Black Economic Alliance, a non-partisan organization focused on driving economic progress in the black community through policy development, advocacy, and supporting candidates for office. Ms. Cook practiced law at a large international law firm, where she advised former Attorney General Eric Holder on political and legal strategy related to redistricting around the country. She also advised a variety of clients on public policy, government affairs, and corporate governance. Ms. Cook was also a legal fellow in the office of U.S. Senator Chris Coons.
Ms. Cook began her State Department career over 20 years ago as a Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellow. She served for almost ten years as a career diplomat with the State Department where she focused on economic and political development. Ms. Cook’s foreign service assignments included service overseas in China, South Africa, and Iraq, and several years in Washington serving in the Africa Bureau in various roles.
She is a graduate of the Yale Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She is also a summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Howard University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration. Ms. Cook is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Washington, D.C. bar. She is also a member of the Alliance for Justice Board of Directors.
Kizzmekia S. Corbett, PhD
Disease-Fighting Warrior
Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett is a research fellow and the scientific lead for the Coronavirus Vaccines & Immunopathogenesis Team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Vaccine Research Center (VRC). She received a B.S. in Biological Sciences, with a secondary major in Sociology, in 2008 from the University of Maryland–Baltimore County, where she was a Meyerhoff Scholar and an NIH undergraduate scholar. She then enrolled at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she obtained her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology in 2014.
A viral immunologist by training, Corbett uses her expertise to propel novel vaccine development for pandemic preparedness. Appointed to the VRC in 2014, her work focuses on developing novel coronavirus vaccines, including mRNA-1273, a leading candidate vaccine against the virus that causes COVID-19. In response to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccine concept incorporated in mRNA-1273 was designed by Corbett’s team from viral sequence data and rapidly deployed to industry partner, Moderna, Inc., for U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved Phase 1 clinical trial, which unprecedently began only 66 days from the viral sequence release. Following promising results in animal models and humans, mRNA-1273 is currently in Phase 3 clinical trial. Alongside mRNA-1273, Corbett’s team boasts a portfolio that also includes universal coronavirus vaccine concepts and novel therapeutic antibodies.
Additionally, Corbett spent several years working on a universal influenza vaccine, which is slated for Phase 1 clinical trial. In all, she has 15 years of expertise studying dengue virus, respiratory syncytial virus, influenza virus and coronaviruses. Along with her research activities, Corbett is an active member of the NIH Fellows Committee and avid advocator of STEM education and vaccine awareness in the community. Combining her research goals with her knack for mentoring, Corbett aims to become an independent principal investigator.
Bracken Darrell

As president and chief executive officer of Logitech, Bracken P. Darrell is responsible for Logitech’s strategy for growth and profitability, for the vision for the brand as well as for the company’s operations. Mr. Darrell joined Logitech as president in April 2012, and assumed the role of chief executive officer in January 2013.
Mr. Darrell brings to Logitech more than twenty years of experience in business management and brand management in successful global consumer companies, including Whirlpool, Procter & Gamble and General Electric. His broad executive management experience has spanned manufacturing, supply chain, product innovation, consumer services and marketing – targeting customers in mature and emerging markets. He has led growth and reinvention for iconic brands such as Old Spice, Gillette, Braun, KitchenAid and Whirlpool.
Prior to joining Logitech, Mr. Darrell was executive vice president of Whirlpool Corporation and president of Whirlpool EMEA, where he guided the company through the economic downturn of 2008. Previously, Mr. Darrell was with Procter & Gamble, most recently as the president of Braun, the home appliance business. In addition to a total of twelve years with Procter & Gamble – in executive management positions as well as earlier years in brand management – Mr. Darrell served with General Electric Company for five years, most recently as the general manager of Consumer Home Service. Mr. Darrell began his career with Arthur Anderson and then PepsiCo.

Lloyd’s accountabilities include leading CommonSpirit Health’s hospital and clinical operations, financial strategy and human resources for 150,000 employees across more than 1,000 care sites, including 137 hospitals. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Dignity Health since 2000. Ivor Horn, MD, MPH

Dr. Ivor Braden Horn has over 20+ years of experience as an executive in health systems, academic, and venture-backed entrepreneurial environments. She is a sought-after advisor for health technology companies and has served on advisory committees and boards for several academic, philanthropic, government and for-profit organizations. As a strategic leader, Ivor has demonstrated expertise in driving organizational change within technology and product innovation and implementing efforts to drive quality improvement and stakeholder engagement. Malcolm Jenkins
Positive Change-Maker
As a true student of the game, a dynamic playmaker from the safety position, and a tireless philanthropist in the community, Malcolm Jenkins is a pillar in the Philadelphia Eagles locker room and in the communities in which he has lived, worked and played, including his home state of New Jersey, Louisiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
In 2016, in his 8th season, following his first trip to the Pro Bowl, Jenkins tied for the team lead in INT (3), ranked second in total tackles (108) and is third in passes defensed (12). His impact on the field garnered his fourth NFC Defensive Player of the Week award; and in his 100th career start, became the only player in Eagles history to register three consecutive seasons with an INT-TD.
In an effort to enhance the lives of youth in underserved communities, Jenkins launched The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation in 2010, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity with a mission to effectuate positive change in the lives of youth by providing resources, innovative opportunities, and experiences that will help them succeed in life and become contributing members of their communities.
In 2016, Jenkins continued his steadfast commitment to make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of youth and communities, through the work of The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, launching a new educational program in Philadelphia; celebrating the first college cohort of Malcolm Jenkins Scholars in Louisiana; assisting 1,200 families with food and essential resources in Ohio and mentoring 425 youth through the 6th annual Next Level Youth Football Camp in New Jersey among other events and programs throughout the year.
Karin Kimbrough

Dr. Karin Kimbrough is the Chief Economist for LinkedIn Corporation. Prior to joining the LinkedIn Corporation in 2020, she served as the Assistant Treasurer for Google from 2017-2019 and the Managing Director and Head of Macroeconomic Policy at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2014-2017. In addition, Kimbrough worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a Vice President and Director for the Financial Stability Monitoring Function in the Markets Group from 2010-2014 and as a Manager for Analytical Development from 2005-2010. She was also an Economist and Strategist at Morgan Stanley from 2000-2005.
Kimbrough serves on the board of directors for Fannie Mae, is an advisor to 3×5 Partners, and serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Academic Advisor Council and the Economic Advisory Panel of the New York Fed.

Charmel Maynard

Charmel Maynard currently serves as Associate Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, and University treasurer for the University of Miami. In this capacity, he leads the University’s efforts to invest over $4B in assets, including endowment and pension funds. Mr. Maynard is also responsible for the University’s ~$1.5B capital structure, including liquidity and debt issuances. Additionally, he manages treasury and cash management.
Mr. Maynard was previously a vice president with J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank in New York City. During his 10-year career with J.P. Morgan, he focused on investment banking debt capital markets and leveraged finance, where he advised clients on capital structure solutions, deal structuring, and execution of syndicated revolving credit facilities, institutional term loans, and bond issuances.
He currently serves on the Sculptor Capital Management Board of Directors (NYSE: SCU), Sculptor Acquisition Corp I (NYSE: SCUA^), Mead Art Museum board as the chair of the Budget Committee, Landed Board of Directors, Catalyst Miami Board of Directors (Finance Committee), Knight Foundation Community Advisory Board and Black Angels Miami Board.

Tiffany McGhee

Tiffany McGhee is the founder, CEO and CIO of Pivotal Advisors and a regular CNBC Contributor. She leads the firm in its mission to exceed client investment objectives and maximize their impact. Onyeagoro earned her A.B. in Economics and East Asian Studies from Harvard University and is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. Chinwe joined REDF’s Board in 2017.

Osei Van Horne is the Global Head and Managing Partner of J.P. Morgan’s Sustainable Growth Equity practice and Head of J.P. Morgan’s social impact commitment to Project Black. Prior to this role, he was a Managing Director and co-founder of the Technology Division of Wells Fargo’s growth equity practice. Previously, Van Horne was also a private equity investor at Goldman Sachs’ Merchant Banking Division where he focused on investing in companies led by diverse management teams. Mr. Van Horne was named one of the 50 most influential venture capital investor by GCV.
Mr. Van Horne serves on the Board of Advisors of Women’s Venture Fund, a leading 501(c)(3) organization focused on providing financing and advisory solutions for women-owned small business in the New York Tri-State area. Van Horne is a mentor at All Raise, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on increasing the pipeline of women venture capital investors. Van Horne is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Business where he teaches Foundations of Private Equity. He has published several white papers concerning private equity process optimization, including, “Impact of Group-Buying Models on Small Business Purchasing: Pilot Research Analysis” published in the Spring 2013 Issue of Institutional Investor Journals – Journal of Private Equity.
Mr. Van Horne is a graduate of Howard University and he resides in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife, Gabryel, and two daughters, Kennedy and Briar.
Alice Vilma
Multicultural Business Community Hero
Alice Vilma is a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Multicultural Client Strategy Group at Morgan Stanley, where she leads Morgan Stanley’s efforts to strengthen its connection to the multicultural business community through development and execution of commercial opportunities with corporate, government, institutional and individual clients. Ms. Vilma launched the Firm’s Multicultural Innovation Lab in 2017, which is an in-house accelerator that invests in and supports early-stage tech and tech-enabled startups with diverse founders. Most recently, Ms. Vilma established the Firm’s first early stage venture fund investing in tech and tech enabled startups with founders of color and women, the Next Level Fund.
Ms. Vilma has been with Morgan Stanley for 15 years and has had different roles within the Firm, including Equity Capital Markets and Securitization. She has over 20 years of investment banking, capital markets, structured finance and investing experience, executing over $25Bn of securitization, structured finance and equity transactions. She graduated Cum Laude with a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Miami and received her MBA from the Harvard Business School. She serves on the boards of Freefrom, the New York Road Runners, The Arnold Gold Foundation and the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami.
