In 2021, Culture Shift Labs’ released their first report assessing the venture capital ecosystem for black check writers. The data from that report was important for quantifying the investment power of black partners, ultimately garnering additional investment from limited partners.  The positive response and impact from that report led CSL to expand their scope, to understand the investing power of Latinx partners. Our research found over 150 U.S. domiciled firms with Latino/a general partners, controlling $75B in venture assets under management.  Not all of these dollars will stay in the United States, the emergence of the LATAM startup ecosystem has directed investment attention from many of these partners to opportunities throughout the Americas. The strength of Latino/a venture investors has been buoyed by a bottom-up approach which has created outsized opportunity for both Latina and Gen-Z investors. It is our hope that by bringing greater attention to the successful growth of  the Latino/a venture ecosystem, more limited partners will identify the upside value to invest in these funds.
